Traveloka Hotel Awards 2018 Give Appreciation to The Best Hotel Partner in Southeast Asia

Jakarta, October 15, 2018 – Traveloka, the leading technology company providing travel and lifestyle booking services for local and international destinations, will hold the second Traveloka Hotel Awards to give appreciation for its hotel partners. Unlike the previous year, Traveloka Hotel Awards 2018 gives appreciation to hotel partners in Southeast Asia. The event which will be held on October 19 will give awards to hotel partners who received and strive for positive reviews throughout 2017, which will be divided into four aspects, namely food, cleanliness, service and overall.

Similar to the previous year, Traveloka Hotel Awards 2018 evaluates the award winners based on user reviews. The main consideration for basing the award selection on user reviews is due to the high impact of user reviews on the tourism industry, especially in the hospitality sector. This is also supported by the high level of internet penetration and technology in Southeast Asia, where customers now have easier access information, and at the same time, the hotel can connect with their customers through digital platforms.

“In recent years, we have seen many hotels that received positive reviews from customers, as well as hotels that improve their services and facilities in order to receive positive reviews from customers. This is what inspired us to hold Traveloka Hotel Awards since last year, which is to give appreciation to hotel partners who have listened to their customers’ reviews and provided the best service throughout the year,” said John Safenson, GM Accommodations, Traveloka.

Along with the increasing use of the application, most of Traveloka’s users will read online reviews first before booking a hotel room and making the review a reference. This shows a sense of trust from users towards hotels that have many positive reviews.

Deo Wijaya, Senior Manager, Product, Traveloka added, “At Traveloka itself, we see a double-digit growth for our hotel partners who have positive reviews from customers, some of which have even increased their growth to two or three times from last year.”

Also present at the press conference session, Hariyadi Sukamdani, Chairman of the Indonesian Hotel and Restaurant Association (PHRI), said, “We really appreciate the initiative from Traveloka through the Traveloka Hotel Awards. The hotel industry currently relies heavily on technology and user reviews, where this is one of the ways for customers to be able to give their appreciation, needs and desires directly to the hotel. From the hotel side, they can connect directly with customers and help the management to improve the service and quality of the hotel.”

Traveloka Hotel Awards 2018 will be held on Friday, October 19, 2018, at ICE BSD City, Tangerang – Banten, Indonesia. The event will award 239 Traveloka hotel partners throughout the Southeast Asia region.
