Traveloka and Bank Mandiri to Support the Ministry of Tourism’s 10 Priority Destinations with Jelajahi Keindahan Indonesia Program

JAKARTA, 23 August 2017 Bank Mandiri has teamed up with travel technology company Traveloka in its “Jelajahi Keindahan Indonesia” program as part of efforts to promote and increase the number of tourist visits in 10 local priority destinations appointed by the Indonesian Ministry of Tourism. Through this partnership, Bank Mandiri and Traveloka is offering exclusive prices for Flight + Hotel packages and Attraction & Activities in Bali and the 10 priority destinations, namely Candi Borobudur, Kepulauan Seribu, Danau Toba, Pantai Tanjung Kelayang, Tanjung Lesung, Mandalika, Bromo Tengger Semeru, Labuan Bajo, Wakatobi and Morotai.

Beyond exclusive prices, Mandiri credit card holders will also receive additional discounts of up to Rp 720.000 for Flight + Hotel packages and Rp 200.000 for Attraction and Activities in the 10 priority destinations. Moreover, Mandiri credit card holders can also enjoy 3 and 6 months installment benefit, and earn quadruple (4 times) fiestapoin for every transaction.

To enjoy the benefits of Jelajahi Keindahan Indonesia, Mandiri credit card holders can easily visit the Traveloka website on https://www.traveloka.com/promotion/indonesia or simply make a booking through Traveloka App. The program will run from 17 August 2017 to 31 August 2017, with the travel period of until 30 November 2017.

The “Jelajahi Keindahan Indonesia bersama Bank Mandiri and Traveloka” press conference was attended by the Ministry of Tourism’s Deputy of Local Tourism Market Development, Esthy Reko Astuty, Traveloka Head of Marketing Dannis Muhammad, and Senior Vice President Credit Cards Group Bank Mandiri (Persero) Ltd, Vira Widiyasari.

Ministry of Tourism Deputy Esthy Reko Astuty expressed her appreciation towards Bank Mandiri and Traveloka for establishing this collaboration to promote the Jelajahi Keindahan Indonesia program. “This support will surely bring plenty of benefits for our society and help boost Indonesia’s economy through the tourism sector. With this program, people – in this case Mandiri customers – can explore the beauty of Indonesia with exclusive deals and effortless transactions,” Esthy said at the press conference in Jakarta, Wednesday (23/8).

Traveloka Head of Marketing, Dannis Muhammad, also positively welcomed the launch of Jelajahi Keindahan Indonesia. “On the auspicious occasion of Indonesia’s 72nd Independence Day, we are excited to collaborate with Indonesia Ministry of Tourism and Bank Mandiri to boost Indonesia’s economy in the tourism sector. We believe that providing seamless booking process and extensive promotion will increase customers’ desire to explore various local destinations in Indonesia,” Dannis stated.

Dannis added that Indonesian customers’ desire to travel has been on the rise in recent years. Data from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) shows a 56% growth for domestic flights from 2011 to 2016, while hotel bookings recorded a 64% increase within the same period.

Bank Mandiri Senior Vice President, Vira Widiyasari, explained that the program is part of Bank Mandiri’s efforts to provide the best services for its customers, as well as its commitment to support and promote the government's 10 priority destinations.

Bank Mandiri recorded a 9.6% increase in credit card transactions at the end of July 2017, with approximately 17% of this total transaction being travel-related, such as for hotel bookings and other travel necessities.
