Entering the third week of Ramadan and coinciding with joint holiday which was scheduled on Monday, 11 Juni 2018, it is predicted that there will be an increase and density in several areas, such as bus terminal. Understanding this condition, the density of travelers and buses volume at the terminal will lead to traffic or even delayed on departure schedules. This will certainly be a barrier and reduce travelers’ convenience at the same time.

Caesar Indra, Senior Vice President of Business Development Traveloka said, “Given the situation, we are partnering with Ministry of Transportation in a joint effort to improve public perception towards comfort and convenience of bus terminal, specifically for bus travelers, in taking bus as one of the preferred transportations for their homecoming trip. Through this activity, we also aim to educate public on how to book bus ticket through digital platform. This will be one of our efforts on digitizing bus industry as well as supporting government’s mission in accelerating transportation growth in this digital era.”

Welcoming and supporting this good initiatives, Budi Setiyadi, General Director of Land Transportation, Ministry of Transportation, Republic of Indonesia said, “We are welcoming Traveloka’s good initiative in socializing this activity. We hope that through Traveloka’s support, all of these additional facilities be utilized properly, so that for those taking the bus for their homecoming trip will feel more convenient. Moving forward, we also hope that these facilities can be extended to other terminal”.

The facilities will be available in three cities, such as Terminal Giwangan, Yogyakarta; Terminal Arjosari, Malang; and Terminal Harjamukti, Cirebon. Travelers are allowed to visit waiting room and enjoy facilities such as cable television, Wi-Fi connection for entertainment, charging corner, additional comfortable seats and takjil for fast breaking meals.

The facilities are available at those three terminals and cities starting from Monday, 11 June 2018 for three months. Public education on how to book bus ticket through digital platform is one of Traveloka and Ministry of Transportation’s joint effort in promoting the easiness of online booking process for bus, while eliminating middlemen practices.
