Traveloka.com Launched Mobile Application, Ranked No 1 in App Store

After successfully introducing hotel booking in July 2014, Traveloka.com a leading online travel agent in Indonesia launched the mobile application for its users in Indonesia. The mobile application is available on iOS and Android platforms.

By using this application on-the-go using their smartphone, consumers could save a lot of time booking their flights. The super simple and pleasant-looking interface becomes the point of interest for users to download this application. Within less than a week after being launched on 31 July 2014, Traveloka app has been ranked number 1 at Travel category on App Store. Currently, the number of download has reached more than 17 thousand users on App Store.

One of the highlights of this application is a feature called “My Ticket (Tiket Saya)”. By using “My Ticket”, user can view issued e-ticket directly on the app without having to open attachment in email client. With this feature, check-in process will be faster and easier. Soon, hotel booking will be accessible through this application.

“The launch of this mobile application is one of our strategies for Indonesia market. We are targeting 10% of flight reservation acquired by mobile application”, said Ferry Unardi, Managing Director Traveloka.com.

“Based on data from McKinsey & Co. and Asymco.com, in 2012 there are approximately 220 million of mobile telephone users. The number is increasing in 2013 to 236 million, from which 14% are smartphone users. This is the big 5 in the world. Indonesian consumers spend approximately 2 hours and 30 minutes for mobile internet service in average, (based on wearesocial.sg) it is higher from the global average at 2 hours and 6 minutes. Based on this, we want to make it even easier for users to book their flights and hotel using this app.” Ferry added.

Previously, Traveloka.com has recorded the month-on-month growth by 17.7% for the number of sold tickets from January to June 2014, and the increasing bookings by 16.2% for the same period.
