Traveloka Inaugurated the #DiscoverWonderfulIndonesia Campaign with the Ministry of Tourism of the Republic of Indonesia to Attract 20 Million Tourists to Indonesia

Singapore, 15 November 2018 - Today, Traveloka officially signed a Memorandum of Agreement (PKS) with the Ministry of Tourism of the Republic of Indonesia. As an official partner of the government, Traveloka, together with the Ministry of Tourism of the Republic of Indonesia, will launch the #DiscoverWonderfulIndonesia campaign to support Indonesian government mission to attract 20 million foreign tourists in 2019.

The MoA signing was represented by Albert, Co-Founder Traveloka, and Ni Wayan Giri Adnyani, Acting Deputy for Marketing Development I, Ministry of Tourism of the Republic of Indonesia, at the Traveloka office in Singapore.

The signing of the collaboration was also witnessed by Mr. Arief Yahya, Minister of Tourism for the Republic of Indonesia and Yady Guitana, Head of International Expansion Traveloka, Halif Hamzah, Country Manager for Malaysia & Singapore Region, along with the Ministry of Tourism team and Traveloka management representatives.

"We are very proud and honored to be working with the Ministry of Tourism for the Republic of Indonesia as an official partner in supporting the Wonderful Indonesia program. The ease of accessing bookings for amenities and attractions is one of the main keys to attracting tourists. Through Traveloka, we want to offer a variety of products and complete services that can meet the needs of every traveler so they can explore various destinations in Indonesia with ease," said Yady Guitana, Head of International Expansion for Traveloka.

Established in 2012, Traveloka has now operating in six countries across Southeast Asia, including Indonesia, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Philippines and Vietnam, and has been downloaded for more than 40 million times by users. To further support this program, Traveloka is also promoting the tourism and various exotic destination in Indonesia through more than 10 travel and lifestyle products and services that can be easily accessed by users.

"Our presence in Southeast Asia is not just for business purposes, but we see this as an effort to provide easy access for foreign tourists, especially in the Southeast Asia region to be able to travel across countries, from and to Indonesia," Yady continued.

Also present at today's event, Minister of Tourism for the Republic of Indonesia, Dr. Ir. Arief Yahya, M.Sc. said, "We are aware of the importance and the role of digital technology today. Therefore, we welcome this cooperation with Traveloka by promoting tourism destinations in Indonesia that are not yet explored, such as Pulau Seribu, Tanjung Lesung, Morotai, Labuan Bajo, and many more. Collaborating and cooperating with Traveloka, a technology company that has expanded into Southeast Asia, is expected to help in supporting the government's program to attract 20 million foreign tourists by 2019."

Through the #DiscoverWonderfulIndonesia campaign, Traveloka will contribute to attracting tourists to Indonesia through its various products available on the Traveloka platform, ranging from travel services to lifestyle. Traveloka will launch a series of programs that are expected to provide an easy and memorable travel experience for tourists on exploring Indonesia, both from inspiration and information, attractive packages such as Hot Deals, and ease of service. All of this is to support the Indonesian government's efforts to realize tourism as one of its strategic sectors.
