Sufintri Rahayu, Public Relations Director Traveloka said, “Traveloka recognizes the importance of this yearly occasion and continuously commits to provide our customers with easy access to various travel and lifestyle products. By doing so, we hope to facilitate our customers in doing silaturahmi to their loved ones and help them create unforgettable moments. In regards to the holy month of Ramadan and Lebaran holidays, we’ve performed a survey with more than 1,311 respondents to understand our customers behavior during this time, as well as when preparing for their holidays.”

Traveloka’s internal data shows that 50% respondents tend to spend their time watching movies while waiting for break fasting time (ngabuburit). Aside from breaking the fast at home,  restaurants and cafes are also the go-to places for 41% of customers to have a break fasting gathering with their loved ones.

The beginning of Ramadan also usually marks the perfect timing for customers to purchase their flight tickets or plan a vacation. Based on Traveloka’s internal data, air transportation mode is still the primary choice for customers when making their Lebaran homecoming trip, with 60% choosing to travel by plane, followed with 12% by train and 2% by bus. In terms of  favorite destinations, Traveloka remarks that Surabaya, Medan, and Makassar are still the top three destinations for the Lebaran homecoming season. Data also shows that 62% of Indonesians make their homecoming trip with their family.

With more than 10 travel and lifestyle products, customers can access their Traveloka App to plan their trips or arrange their entertainment and recreations, and even indulge in the best local culinary options. “This study becomes the background of our commitment to continuously focus on our customers’ needs, so that our products and services can help facilitate customers in preparing their holiday trip, supporting their lifestyle and making silaturahmi with their loved ones a lot easier,” added Sufintri.
